For this project I made a traditional style 19th century looking gate with C scrolls that are branded together, like a blacksmith would have done 100 years ago. I asked the customer if I could make the latch look like a honey bee. Lift one wing, and the gate opens. For the wings I studied images of bee wings for about a week. Then I drew them over and over until I got it right on paper. Then, using 3/32 round stock I bent the bars over the drawings I had made. Then just welded them together.
